As one of probably many unable-to-sleep artists tonight, i have given up after over four hours of trying to sleep and have indulged my night time awakeness with some much loved (and much needed!) art watching! . . . . with my cat who refuses to leave my bed!! <3
And it was well worth breaking away form doing yet more of my college coursework I have just stumbled across a new artist to me, Georgia Lesley. I think her work is beautiful and very spiritually rich! I love the feelings she conveys through her people and animal portraits, like looking trough windows coated in emotion and love. In her gallery she has up mainly her acrylic on canvass works but also likes to work in watercolour and coloured pencil.
I have not yet checked to see if she is here on DA but I will do!
So this week I have been working as we have to work for the week to do with our college placement. I have been following my nose and working at a plant nursery and a private garden with my partner. Despite the autumn wet weather I have squeezed in quite a few hours work and written it all up! (15 little pages in my A5 notebook!)
I’m really coming around to the thought of being a flouriest! I don’t know if there are any florists reading this but if so please comment what its like for you!!! i love art and plants so I feel it could be a good combination for me! So I’m looking forward to that idea and its keeping me motivated though the course, which I swear is more like degree standard by the amount of work we get!
Art wize >>> yeah I feel my art work has been getting back on track recently, I know I haven’t uploaded hardly anything recently and I have just not been updating but I could well do soon as I’m beavering away in my sketch books!!! what I have been doing is a little most nights before bed and its been making me feel a lot happier and more expressive. Art is healthy for you and I can’t imagine a world without it. I’m mainly working in watercolour and coloured pencil still as there pretty much the cheapest things I can work in that I know I like. I would like to try more acrylic or oils on canvass but I need brushes and decent paint.
Mainly sketching of natural forms like people, animals, angles, trees and plants! I will put up some samples of my sketches if anyone would like to see? Heheh I might even if people don’t if I ever manage to get my self in gear!
Oooohhhh I have to be at work in the morning by 8.00, pfffffff!!!! Not much sleep, might just have to call in sick if I’m dead to the world.
SO….. the time is now um, 4.13AM. ! ooow if only my mum knew I was up hehehe
